A scarce and decidedly energetic 1982 New Zealand-only compilation, Backstage Pass gathers together seventeen tracks from some of the defining names of the late-70s and early-80s punk landscape. This vibrant collection delivers a raw, unfiltered snapshot of the era, featuring contributions from scene heavyweights including UK Subs, The Exploited, Cyanide, and other uncompromising underground favourites. Packedwith breakneck tempos, serrated guitars and no-nonsense attitude, it stands as a spirited testament to the genre’s enduring DIY ethos.
This edition comes housed in its original bright green matte picture sleeve, an eye-catching design that captures the era’s confrontational aesthetic. The sleeve shows moderate edgewear and some creasing, consistent with its age and origin, yet remains fully intact with strong colour throughout. The vinyl exhibits a handful of light hairlines, none of which impact play, and retains a healthy sheen.
