Vinyl] - Presenting the official compilation of all the singles that
originally appeared on Southern Sound, Vanguardand ATCO. Hailing
from the East Coast, these New York rockers were heroes from the
start and were adored in high school by future members of The
Ramones. Full of brashness and sheer momentum, The Vagrants drew
up the blueprints for the early punks; They interpreted soul songs and
contemporary rock in their own way - including the absolutely thrilling
Version of 'Respect, which appeared on the Nuggets compilation series,
thus securing their immortality. Twelve tracks of groovy garage,
impulsive and primitive proto-punk psych with expert production by
Felix Pappalardi and Leslie West on guitar before his career with
Mountain. With previously unseen photos, liner notes by the Ugly
Things' Mike Stax and an interview with JOHNNY RAMONE.
